Lonestars! It's time to grow the Mo in 2012!
This year the USAFL will be participating in Movember. I am sure most of you are familiar with Movember, but if not, it is a world-wide effort to raise vital awareness and funds for men's health issues, specifically prostate and testicular cancer initiatives. In 2010 the USAFL saw huge amounts of participation throughout the league, and are again asking each individual club to participate again. With your help and initiative the league hopes to reach the goal of raising $10,000 across the organization. With over 40 clubs and more than 1,000 members in the USAFL, this goal is definitely attainable. But in order to reach that goal it is going to take enthusiastic participation throughout all of your clubs.
At the end of the month, awards will be given to the MoBro who raises the most money, the MoSista who raises the most money, the team that raises the most money, and the Best Mo (as voted by USAFL Board).

'Once registered at www.movember.com, men start Movember 1st clean shaven. For the rest of the month, these selfless and generous men, known as Mo Bros, groom, trim and wax their way into the annals of fine moustachery. Supported by the women in their lives, Mo Sistas, Movember Mo Bros raise funds by seeking out sponsorship for their Mo-growing efforts.
Mo Bros effectively become walking, talking billboards for the 30 days of November. Through their actions and words they raise awareness by prompting private and public conversation around the often ignored issue of men’s health.
At the end of the month, Mo Bros and Mo Sistas celebrate their gallantry and valor by either throwing their own Movember party or attending one of the infamous Gala Partés held around the world by Movember, for Movember.'
At the end of the month(Friday 30th November) we will hold a Houston Lonestars 'Mo' celebration at The Firkin & Pheonix to enjoy each other’s beautiful mustaches and award prizes for the best Mo.
