USAFL Nationals 2024 was amazing weekend for our Lonestars family - 3 teams, over 60 players, 12 games including leading the inagural Next Gen Youth game, 7 victories including an incredible Men’s D2 premiership, and 2 boat race victories!

Our Men’s Reserves Div5 team filled with old legs and very new ones finished an honorable 3rd. The Women’s Div2 team with Calgary Kookaburra's and New Orleans Bayou Brawlers came home hard and took out 2nd in the 5 team round robin.

The Men’s Div2 team, in the much touted ‘Division of Death’ went 3-0 to make the Grand Final vs Seattle Sunday afternoon and came from 3 goals down, 5 mins into the 2nd half to win in a thriller by 4 points.

This is the 15th year of the Lonestars and it’s been a long road to a Div 2 Men’s premiership after winning Div 3 in 2013. It takes a certain special combination of players & people to get a team over the line to the ultimate prize and we are so thankful this was our year.

We wish to acknowledge all our players, many whom have put in the work over numerous years and their commitment to training, travel, over coming injury and finding their way to us in each’s own special way. Massive thanks to our leadership, coaches, water runners, off-field support, family & friends and our alumni legend players who made the weekend extra special as we celebrated Jesse Carcamo and Dave Bryant’s 100 game milestones.
