Training Wednesday (tonight)

Hey guys,

Training is on tonight as per normal from 6pm at Bendwood Park. Everybody is encouraged to come down for a kick, no matter if you have been in town for a week or a decade. 

Remember we have a the first game of the Texas Cup coming up soon, try to get in as many sessions as you can before then.

Make it down as soon as you are able to after work (don't forget your gear - am looking at you baby!!), we go til around dark.

Metro Carnival - Saturday May 3rd 11am

The first Lonestars Metro Carnival will be held in Houston this weekend with teams traveling in from Austin and Baton Rouge.

When: This Saturday, May 3rd,12pm-3pm (ALL Players to arrive at 11am)
Where: Cullen Park Soccer Fields, 19008 Saums Rd, Houston, 77084  
***(Access via Katy Fwy(I-10) and Barker Cypress - Google/iPhone Maps will put it in Bear Creek Park which is NOT right)
Post Game Drinks: After-match drinks will be on at The Phoenix on Westheimer from 5pm.
 
There will be 5 teams playing a round-robin Metro format (2 teams from Austin, 2 from Houston and 1 from Baton Rouge). The games will be played with 10 players on the field so Lonestars will continue with current Metro teams - the Houston Reds and Rodeo Clowns so bring your blue and red shirts.  The format will likely be short games (2 x 10min halves) against each team, with a grand-final to decide the winners.  We have 2 fields booked so will play games on both concurrently.
 

DB and Coach Dan are coordinating playing lists for both Lonestar teams so if you have not been in touch with either of them please do so ASAP.

 
This is a really good opportunity to get some game time against strong opposition, particularly for the newer guys, in the build up to Texas Cup on May 17th so please make yourself available and be ready for some good, fun footy.
