Lonestars and friends, it's now 2016 and time to get the legs moving again to build the foundation of fitness for the coming season.
We are introducing “Fitness Through Footy” aimed at providing an introduction to newcomers, both guys & girls, to the sport of Australian Rules Football as well as provide current Houston Lonestars players regular sessions to build fitness and basic skills. The program will run 8 weeks through January and February on Sunday afternoons starting THIS SUNDAY 3PM (10th Jan).
Lead by Maxy Boland, the first few sessions will be held Sunday afternoons at Memorial Park directly adjacent to the running track on the west side, opposite the dedicated running track (see map below), starting at 3pm and running for approximately 1 hour. The sessions will be initially focused on building a fitness base with skills to be introduced a little later.
All current Lonestars players please wear your new training singlet or Lonestars Jersey (or 2015 T shirt if you have neither of these) as we will be showcasing our club and the game to runners/walkers beside the Memorial Park running path, looking to attract new participants.
So whether it's for personal fitness, learn a new sport or just for the social side, come on down for Fitness Through Footy with the Houston Lonestars each Sunday afternoon in January and February. All friends, family, colleagues or acquaintances are welcome and will truly enjoy what is a great workout!!
